Invicta 5508 Description

The Invicta 5508 Subaqua chronograph watch is made of sturdy stainless steel with an ion-plated polyurethane rubber strap and uses a simple stainless steel buckle clasp. The stainless steel bezel is ion plated and unidirectional with the 5-seconds interval digits inscribed on it. Sapphire coating is added to the anti-reflective mineral crystal.

The hands are luminous against a dark face background for easy viewing in a dark environment. The face sports a date display for your calendar function and a tachymeter to monitor your speed. The chronograph function measures time in 60 second,1/10th second and 30 minutes intervals.
To ensure water resistance down to a depth of 500 meters or 1640 feet, the watch case, crown and pushers of the Invicta 5508 are all screw down type.

Invicta 5508 Chronograph watch Review

The screw down features on the Invicta 5508 is common to the Invicta Subaqua Collection Chronograph Watch models. This feature is there to preserve the water resistance of the watch. In order to set the data and time you have to unscrew the crown (counterclockwise), pull it out to the adjustment position, make your adjustments, push it back in and screw the crown back in tightly. This is important to know to protect your manufacturer warranty. This information might not be clear in the manual.
The date is in the four o’clock position, out of the way of the sub dials. The white background Tachymeter dial is fitted just to the inside of the bezel and the chronograph sub dials in the center of the face ensure each function is easily and separately visible. The hands are clearly set to enhance this and prevent any confusion in distinguishing any feature.
Make sure all the screws holding the strap are tight as this can be an issue. Some persons have complained of poor after-sale support from the manufacturer.
Although the Invicta 5508 looks big, it is fairly light and the strap is wide but fits comfortably well.
